Roland Loy:
Vocalist, Coach, Music-Producer

STORY

Roland Loy has been active in music for over 20 years with very broad experiences in various areas of the music business.
As a passioned musician he started his own band project as piano player and lead singer when he was 16 years old, already well trained on the piano. Improvisation has always been his key talent.

He got a complete 2 year full time vocal education, with a focus on Musical Technique by a personal tutor named Gudrun Heilmeyer (Bochum). She was trained by Steve Heartland, in New York City in "Belting", the most popular Broadway Musical Technique.

He developed his personal musicality when he wrote songs and lyrics for his different bands covering elements of folk, rock and pop. The outcome was the development of his own personal style which he manifested in several productions.

The next step was a contract with EMI Publishing, Hamburg which featured 3 pre-productions with the producers Kalle Trapp (Blind Guardian), Burkhard Brozart (Karat) and Horst Schnebel (Sidney Youngblood). Even though there was no official release, it provided a broad set of experiences to Roland Loy.

A two years US assignment in New York, Connecticut and North Carolina gave Roland Loy some inside on the US market and also improved his languague skills as well as the understanding of the American Way of Producing.

Based on his experiences he also works as a singing teacher. Besides individual lessons, he also conducts workshops for the LAG Rock. A new project has been an interactive bi-langual voice workshop on the Internet. Beside this he does coaching for newcomers like
'Leandro/ BMG',
'Nele /Hidden Force',
'The Murphy Brothers/Universal'.

For Sennheiser he runs frequently mikrophone workshops and gives practical user feedback to the development team.

Since 1999 he runs his own recording studio, recently moved to a bigger location in the city of Hannover.

STUDY PHILOSOPHY

Roland Loy sees himself as a niche player in the studio market and distiguishes himself by providing an individual solution for each artist who wants to record at his studio. He aims to support talented musicians in the whole process of the realisation of their musical ideas.

This includes a support on the song selection, the arrangment and performance.
A major focus is set on the vocal part, where he provides song and singer coaching.

He also has an effective network of instrumental players, photographers, choreographers, dancers, illustrators and print and copy works, which enables him to facilitate each artist based on his individual wants and needs.

The result is a package where the recorded CD is one factor but it includes also the developed image of the artist, photographs and the musical concept.
